Taker Conventions

Conventions exist to allow the taker to show his partner a void, singleton, doubleton, to identify a suit where pitches are necessary, or to tell his partner that she is currently pitching the wrong suit.

The first four signals - void, singleton, doubleton, and classic cry for help - all rely on the concept of the opening. The opening of a Gorilla hand is over when the taker plays a lower card in a previously led suit. What happens in the opening can give the giver a good insight into the taker's hand.
